Easy to maintain

Maintenance - Wooden floor

When it comes to maintaining wooden floors, it's essential to know what type of floor you have and how the top layer is finished. This can be oxidatively oiled, UV-oiled (High Solid), or lacquered. Check the product page to find out what kind of top layer your floor has.

The better the floor is maintained, the more resistant it is to dirt. So, good maintenance is always advisable.

Oxidatively oiled floors

After laying a floor with oxidative oil, it should be cleaned with Solidfloor Wood Cleaner and treated with Solidfloor Ultimate Hardwax Oil (Natural or White). For floor maintenance, we recommend the following:

Daily maintenance: Vacuuming and/or sweeping the floor is sufficient to keep it clean.

Bi-weekly maintenance: Clean the floor with Solidfloor Wood Cleaner every two weeks.

Annual maintenance: Depending on usage, it is recommended to give the floor an annual maintenance treatment. This includes cleaning the floor with Solidfloor Wood Cleaner and then treating it with Solidfloor Ultimate Hardwax Oil (Natural or White).

In case of damage, it is advisable to contact the point of sale directly.

High solid (UV) oiled floors

Unlike oxidatively oiled floors, High Solid oiled floors (UV oil) do not need to be re-oiled immediately after installation. This means that the floor is basically ready for walking on after installation, which makes them particularly popular in the professional sector. However, please consider the drying time of the adhesive if the floor is glued down. It must be well cured before use. With floating installation, the floor can be loaded immediately after installation.

Maintenance after installation is similar to that of oxidatively oiled floors.

Maintenance of lacquered floors

The following cleaning and maintenance advice applies to lacquered floors by Solidfloor:

Daily maintenance: Vacuuming and sweeping the lacquered floor is sufficient to keep it clean.

Bi-weekly: Clean the floor with Solidfloor Wood Cleaner every two weeks.

Annually: It is recommended to clean the floor once a year with Solidfloor Wood Cleaner and then oil it with Solidfloor Polish.

Damage: In case of damage, it is advised to contact the point of sale directly.

Tip: Easy Clean and Easy Protect are also suitable for lacquered floors (Note: not for oiled floors)!
